The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: Title: System and Method for Automated Single-Station Dual-Side Laser Welding of Cylindrical Cell Modules An automated laser welding system (101) for cylindrical cell modules is disclosed. The system includes a pallet assembly (107) configured to hold cylindrical cells and corresponding busbars, a positioning and locking arrangement (112, 130), a lifting mechanism (113), a vision- based scanning system (108), a laser welding unit (109), an integrated flipping mechanism (114) and a centralized controller (103). The pallet assembly includes functional side engagement features configured to cooperate with engagement members of the flipping mechanism (120) for automatic rotation of the complete loaded pallet assembly approximately one-hundred-eighty-degrees within a welding chamber (105). During operation, the pallet-mounted cell module (107, 125) is stabilized, scanned and welded on a first terminal side, after which the pallet assembly is automatically flipped, repositioned, rescanned and welded on the opposite terminal side within the same station. The system further supports barcode-based recipe selection (102), variant validation, mismatch detection and positional correction, thereby reducing manual intervention, improving repeatability, reducing cycle time and enabling compact dual-side welding of cylindrical cell modules.
