MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541028230 A) filed by Mahesh Value Products Private Limited on April 26, 2025, for System And Method For Automated Real-Time Officiating And Performance Analysis In Multiple Sports.

Inventor includes Nagarajan Soodammani.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED REAL-TIME OFFICIATING AND PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS IN MULTIPLE SPORTS An automated sports officiating and camera control system (100) and method (200) for real-time monitoring and decision generation is disclosed. The system comprises (i) a mobile device platform (120) or (ii) an edge computing device having a camera module (101), a computing module (103), a display, and a communication interface, mechanically coupled via a wired interface (130d) to a motorized pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cradle assembly (130). A perception processing unit (111) generates structured physical facts with associated uncertainty values from captured video. A deterministic, non-machine-learning rules processing unit (112) applies sport-specific rules to generate an officiating decision within a predefined latency threshold and without producing an indeterminate output. A reinforcement learning-based camera control module (105) generates electrical control signals to actuate pan, tilt, and zoom motors. Perception, rule evaluation, and camera control execute concurrently in a pipelined architecture entirely on the mobile device or edge computing device without external computing resources during live gameplay. The system (100) is configurable for multiple sports and deployable on alternative form factors including a tripod-mounted cradle, a wearable backpack, a mobile wheeled platform, a quadruped robot, and an unmanned aerial vehicle.
