MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641088135 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 20, 2026, for System And Method For Automated Hair Characterization, Dynamic Dye Formulation, And Adaptive Color Application Using Artificial Intelligence.

Inventors include Bala Ganesh N; Gowsik V; Pendekanti Sai Deepthi; and Harshita Bogineni.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence-Based Automated Hair Analysis, Dynamic Dye Formulation, and Adaptive Color Application System for automating and optimizing hair coloring procedures. The system comprises a Hair Capture and Data Acquisition Module (1), an AI Hair Analysis Module (2), a Treatment Planning and Color Selection Module (3), a Dynamic Dye Formulation Module (4), a Precision Robotic Dye Application Module (5), a Real-Time Color Monitoring Module (6), an Adaptive Control and Color Correction Module (7), and a Final Result and Report Generation Module (8). Hair characteristics including hair type, density, texture, existing color profile, damage level, and grey-hair distribution are analyzed to generate personalized dye formulations and treatment profiles. A robotic application mechanism applies dye according to a digital hair map, while real-time monitoring continuously evaluates color development. Adaptive feedback control automatically modifies treatment parameters to achieve a target color outcome. The invention improves color consistency, grey-hair coverage, treatment accuracy, safety, and dye utilization efficiency while minimizing human intervention and chemical wastage.
