MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631066200 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology Patna on May 26, 2026, for System And Method For Automated Crop Cultivation Management In A Controlled Agricultural Environment.
Inventors include Kumar, Ravi; Shahid, Md. Waquar; and Ahmad, Rafeeq.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to a system (102) and a method (300) for automated crop cultivation management in a controlled agricultural environment. The system (102) includes a processor (104) to receive environmental and soil data and simultaneously receive, using an imaging module (118), images of a plant foliage at predetermined time intervals, transmit, by a communication module (120), the received environmental and soil data and the received images to an edge computing device and generate structured feature inputs of the environmental and soil data. The processor (104) generates predictive outputs using machine learning models, determines, by an automation decision engine (126), control actions based on the predictive outputs of the machine learning models and actuate actuators to regulate environmental conditions within the controlled agricultural environment based on the determined control actions.
