MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078131 A) filed by Dr. C. Krishnaveni; and Nageshwaran V. on June 24, 2026, for System And Method For Automated Condition Monitoring Of Concrete Bridges Using Embedded Sensors.
Inventors include Dr. C. Krishnaveni; and Nageshwaran V..
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED CONDITION MONITORING OF CONCRETE BRIDGES USING EMBEDDED SENSORS The present invention relates to a system and method for automated condition monitoring of concrete bridges using embedded sensors. The system comprises a network of integrated sensors embedded within critical structural components to continuously measure parameters including strain, vibration, crack development, temperature, humidity, and load distribution. Sensor data is transmitted to a central processing unit through wired or wireless communication modules, where advanced analytics and predictive algorithms evaluate structural health in real time. The method enables automated detection of deterioration, damage progression, and abnormal structural behavior, generating alerts and maintenance recommendations. The invention facilitates continuous, remote, and non-destructive bridge assessment, reduces manual inspection requirements, enhances public safety, optimizes maintenance scheduling, and extends the operational lifespan of bridge infrastructure.
