MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076650 A) filed by Abinas V; and Dr. Abdul Nazeer K A on June 20, 2026, for System And Method For Automated Cardiotoxicity Risk Assessment Using Engineered Tissue Doppler Imaging Waveform Descriptors.
Inventors include Abinas V; and Dr. Abdul Nazeer K A.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for automated cardiotoxicity risk assessment using engineered Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI) waveform descriptors. The system comprises a data acquisition interface configured to receive TDI waveform data associated with myocardial motion of a subject, a waveform preprocessing module configured to generate standardized waveform information, a waveform characterization module configured to identify physiologically significant waveform regions, and a feature engineering module configured to extract quantitative waveform descriptors comprising velocity descriptors, temporal descriptors, area-based descriptors, gradient descriptors, statistical descriptors, waveform morphology descriptors, or combinations thereof. A risk assessment engine evaluates the extracted descriptors to generate a cardiotoxicity risk representation indicative of susceptibility to cancer therapy-related cardiac dysfunction. A clinical output module generates risk indicators and assessment outputs for clinical review. The disclosed framework transforms myocardial velocity waveform information into structured quantitative representations and facilitates automated, interpretable, and computationally efficient cardiotoxicity risk assessment using routinely acquired echocardiographic data.
