MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621085308 A) filed by Symbiosis Skills And Professional University on July 12, 2026, for System And Method For Artificial Intelligence Driven Digital Twin Monitoring And Control In Fdm Processes.

Inventors include Dhruv Sawant; Vijaykumar S Jatti; and Sagar V Wankhede.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The invention discloses a cyber-physical digital twin system and method configured for fused deposition modelling processes. The system comprises a fused deposition modelling printer equipped with positional and thermal sensors, a microcontroller for real-time acquisition, a computing unit interfaced with the printer through an application programming interface, a synchronization module for timestamp-based alignment of heterogeneous data streams, a machine learning module for predictive analytics, and a control module for corrective actions. The method comprises acquiring sensor and printer data, synchronizing the data within a tolerance window, processing the synchronized dataset using regression and neural network models, predicting time-dependent process parameters, detecting deviations between predicted and actual states, and transmitting corrective signals to the printer to establish closed-loop adaptive correction. The invention thereby enables real-time monitoring, predictive forecasting, anomaly detection, and adaptive control in fused deposition modelling processes, ensuring improved dimensional accuracy, thermal stability, and reliability.
