Abstract: Disclosed is a system (202) and a method (400) for Application to Peer (A2P) messaging in a communication network (100). The system (202) includes a diameter interfacing unit (308) and a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interfacing unit (310). The diameter interfacing unit (308) receives an A2P message associated with a user account in the communication network (100) and triggers a Mobile Network Portability (MNP) server (214) to determine whether or not the user account corresponds to a client service provider in the communication network (100). Thereafter, the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) interfacing unit (310) attempts a transmission of the A2P message through a SIP interface, based on a determination that the user account corresponds to a service provider other than the client service provider, in the communication network (100).
