The memory 206 stores one or more instructions executable by the one or more processors 204 to generate a randomized challenge passphrases or word sequence 108 for the user 102 to respond; capture real-time sequence of video 106 having facial imagery responses during challenge-response phrase 108 authentication; extract lip region-of-interest from the captured video 106 obtained during challenge-response phrase 108 authentication; process extracted lip region of interest through a spatio-temporal feature encoding module 216; compare extracted spatio-temporal features with matching of template stored in database 228; and grant access if extracted spatio-temporal features match with the template, else deny access.
