MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611032219 A) filed by Reliamed Innovation Private Limited on March 17, 2026, for System And Method For Airway Intubation Using Double-Lumen Laryngeal Mask Airway And Introducer.
Inventor includes Rajeev Verma.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method (700) and an airway intubation system (10) for establishing and maintaining an open airway in a patient, comprising a reusable double-lumen Laryngeal Mask Airway Device (LMA) device (12) and a reusable introducer (40). The LMA device (12) includes a removable mask portion (14) with an inflatable cuff (16) forming a seal around a laryngeal inlet. An airway tube (20) delivers respiratory gases via airway connector (22), and a drainage tube (26) permits passage of a nasogastric (NG) tube through a drainage opening (30) for gastric decompression. The introducer (40) comprises a first elongated member (42) and a second elongated member (44) coupled together, each with a predetermined bend (46). The members are removably inserted into the respective tubes, causing them to conform to the anatomical curvature of the upper airway for insertion. A grasping potion (48) provides ergonomic control. An air valve (18) enables cuff inflation and pressure monitoring. Fig. 1
