The method includes executing local training of the global machine learning model (102) using the corresponding local dataset to generate a local model update. The method includes processing the local model update according to a privacy-preservation operation to generate a protected model update. The method includes receiving the protected model update. The method includes aggregating the protected model update. The method includes updating the global machine learning model (102). The method includes transmitting the updated global machine learning model (102) to the plurality of participating client devices.
