Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for AI-based predictive equipment failure detection and adaptive maintenance control. Heterogeneous telemetry from an equipment asset is preprocessed, temporally aligned, quality assessed, and normalized according to an identified operating state. An AI/ML engine determines a degradation state, candidate failure mode, failure probability, and/or remaining useful life. A verification engine evaluates prediction confidence, cross-sensor consistency, and competing non-failure explanations and may request additional sensing or a bounded diagnostic intervention. When a reliability condition is satisfied, an adaptive maintenance-control unit selects an inspection, service, operating adjustment, work order, controlled load reduction, or other maintenance response according to the verified cause and operating constraints. Post-response telemetry is evaluated to confirm a required physical improvement before the maintenance event is closed or a baseline/model is updated, thereby providing a closed-loop, confidence-qualified predictive maintenance architecture.
