Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to a system and method for AI-based image recognition and analysis. Image data received from an image-acquisition device is characterized to determine image-quality conditions including blur, illumination, contrast, noise, occlusion, saturation or resolution. An adaptive preprocessing unit selects processing operations and parameters according to the determined conditions. An AI recognition engine generates region-specific recognition outputs, and a confidence unit determines a confidence value using probability, class separation, inference consistency and uncertainty information. A recognized region is accepted for image analysis when a validation criterion is satisfied. When confidence is insufficient, the system selectively changes preprocessing, invokes an alternate recognition branch, or controls an acquisition parameter to obtain replacement image data. Validated recognition outputs are analyzed for object, dimensional, relational, temporal, defect or anomaly information. Confidence-gated processing thereby improves recognition reliability while reducing unnecessary computation and image reacquisition.
