MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641075843 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 19, 2026, for System And Method For Ai-Based Crop Demand Forecasting And Analysis Using Unified Crop Performance Index.

Inventors include Anitha A; and Sanjay S.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an Artificial Intelligence-based agricultural decision support system (100) configured to perform crop demand forecasting, crop profitability prediction, agricultural performance evaluation, automated data processing, monitoring, and farmer-buyer matching. The system (100) receives agricultural datasets comprising crop information, geographical information, cultivation season information, yield information, market-price information, profitability information, and demand-related information. A workflow automation framework automatically retrieves and filters agricultural records, while an analytics engine generates demand metrics, profitability metrics, and crop performance indicators. An artificial intelligence prediction engine produces crop demand forecasts and crop profitability predictions. A crop performance evaluation framework computes a Unified Crop Performance Index (UCPI) and generates region-wise crop rankings. The system (100) further provides dashboard-based visualization, field-monitoring functionality, farmer-buyer association, and automated report generation within an integrated agricultural intelligence architecture.
