MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521115694 A) filed by Afifa Nausheen on November 22, 2025, for System And Method For Adaptive Start-Stop Control Of An Engine Based On Dynamic Threshold Adjustment And Driver Behavior Learning.

Inventor includes Afifa Nausheen.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an adaptive control system for automatic start–stop operation of a diesel engine using machine learning-based techniques. The system processes multiple input parameters including accelerator position, brake pressure, vehicle speed, steering angle, battery state of charge, and engine temperature to determine operating conditions. A driver intent estimation module computes a driver intent probability based on driving behavior. A dynamic threshold generation module adaptively determines control thresholds for engine restart and shutdown decisions. A learning module updates the thresholds based on the difference between desired behavior and actual engine state, while a stabilization mechanism prevents oscillatory operation. A decision module generates restart and shutdown commands, and a safety control module overrides operation under predefined failsafe conditions. The system improves fuel efficiency, reduces emissions, and enhances drivability through adaptive and context-aware engine control
