MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511008360 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited on January 31, 2025, for System And Method For Adapting A Front Collision Warning Timing Based On A Driving Pattern.

Inventors include T P, Amal; Aggarwal, Manoj; Singh, Amar Deep; and Gupta, Vipul.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A system (208) for adapting a front collision warning (FCW) timing based on a driving pattern is disclosed. The system (208) includes at least one processor (302). The at least one processor (302) determines a threshold FCW timing for a vehicle based on at least one input received from at least one sensor associated with the vehicle. The FCW timing is indicative of a time remaining before a pre-collision warning is triggered for the vehicle. The at least one processor (302) determines an adaptive coefficient value, indicative of the driving pattern associated with the user, for a predefined number of past braking actions by a user driving the vehicle. The at least one processor (302) adjusts the threshold FCW timing based on the determined adaptive coefficient value while maintaining a threshold automatic emergency braking (AEB) timing for the vehicle, thereby adapting the FCW timing based on the driving pattern.
