Abstract: An anomaly-triggered, sensor-selective power-domain intervention system and method are disclosed for causally diagnosing abnormal behaviour in a multi-sensor arrangement. A plurality of sensors is normally powered from a shared operating power rail P, while an electrically isolated and independently monitored diagnostic power rail D is selectively available. Upon detection of an ambiguous multi-sensor anomaly, a controller records a pre-intervention measurement window and selectively transfers a suspect sensor from the operating power rail P to the diagnostic power rail D through a break-before-make switching path, while at least one peer sensor remains powered from the operating power rail P as an untouched control. Following a bounded settling interval, synchronized post-intervention measurements are acquired from the transferred sensor and the peer sensor. A causal diagnostic engine evaluates changes in abnormal behaviour resulting from the power-domain intervention to distinguish a shared power-domain fault, an individual sensor or interface fault, a physical-process-consistent condition, or an uncertain condition. The resulting diagnosis may control rail isolation, alarm qualification, actuator gating, sensor transfer, or maintenance actions.
