The backup management module (112) manages storage and retrieval of backup data within the secure local storage (108), while the restoration control module (114) cooperates with the user authorization module (116) and the restoration interface module (118) to prevent initiation of a restoration process. Upon receipt of the authorization input, the restoration execution module (120) restores the backup data in accordance with the selected restoration option.
