MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611058066 A) filed by Integral University on May 07, 2026, for Synthesis Of New Oxindole-Containing Thiazole Derivatives And Their Effects On Human Lung Cancer And Process For The Preparation Thereof.

Abstract: This invention relates to the Synthesis of new oxindole-containing thiazole derivatives and their effects on human lung cancer and process for the preparation thereof. Herein, biologically significant oxindole-containing thiazole hybrid derivatives were synthesized (4a-g) using building block synthetic molecules, owing to various oxindole and thiazole derivatives showing the strong anticancer effects. However, the analytical techniques FT-IR, ¹H and ¹³C NMR, and MS were utilized for successful characterization of the compounds. Moreover, the drug-likeness of the synthesized compounds (4a-g) was analyzed by the in-silico/in-vitro analyses as well. Synthesized compounds (4a-g) were an objective to find out the anticancer effects against the human lung cancer cell line named A549 at different concentrations. As per in-vitro analysis, synthesized compound 4g showed the best activity against A549 cells, and their IC50 value noted that it is 307.9 nM at 24 hours. It concluded that synthesized compound 4g could be used in further investigation for in-vivo models and could be derivatized for making an effective drug for the treatment of human lung cancer.
