MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421098159 A) filed by Jawharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development; and National Aluminium Company Limited on December 12, 2024, for Synthesis Of Alumina Having High Purity.
Inventors include Priyanka Nayar; Pooja Yadav; Sandeep Kowe; Upendra Singh; Anupam Agnihotri; and Lavudya Naresh.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: Abstract: SYNTHESIS OF ALUMINA HAVING HIGH PURITY The present invention provides a process for the preparation of alumina having 99.9% purity, said process comprising the steps such as digestion of aluminum metal in isopropanol at a temperature ranging from 60 to 82 0C to obtain a dispersion; subjecting said dispersion to vacuum distillation to obtain an aluminum isopropoxide colloid; drying the obtained aluminum isopropoxide colloid at a temperature ranging from 95 to 105 0C to obtain a dried colloid; and mixing the dried colloid with hydrolysate under stirring followed by calcinating at a temperature ranging from 1000 to 1250 0C to obtain alumina having 99.9 % purity.
