Abstract: This invention presents the synthesis, characterization, and biological evaluation of a family of novel thiazole rings fused with functionalized azetidine architectures. The multi-step synthesis proceeds through the primary condensation of substituted benzaldehydes with thiosemicarbazide to form thiosemicarbazones, followed by cyclization with chloroacetyl chloride to yield central thiazole templates. Further ring fusion with chloroacetyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine delivers a stable fused azetidine-thiazole framework, which is then functionalized via nucleophilic substitution using secondary or aromatic amines. The chemical configurations of all final targets were structurally confirmed via FTIR, 1H-NMR, and mass spectrometry. Pharmacological screenings demonstrated that these fused frameworks possess potent antimicrobial activities.
