Abstract: A swimming-based amusement facilitating assistive device for amputees, comprises of a frame 101 having two curved-shaped extendable plates 102 connected with each other by means of a pair of motorized hinge joints 103, top portion of the frame 101 is adapted to be engaged with lower limb of an unilateral amputee, an imaging unit 104 to determine dimensions of the user’s lower limb, a motorized drawer arrangement for acquiring a fit over user’s lower limb, an inflatable member 105 for comfortable fit of body around user’s limb, a curved-shaped extendable flap 106 mimicking structure of swimfin, a water tide sensor to detect velocity of water, a ball- and-socket joint 107 to provide to-and-fro motion to flap 106 for aiding user in swimming in water body, a SONAR sensor 110 to monitor marine life and other aquatic creatures underwater, a vibrating unit alerting user regarding any potential risk while underwater.
