Abstract: A swimming assistive device, comprises of an oval-shaped cushioned member 101 and the member is attached with a harness 102 to secure the member over the torso region, a plurality of pressure sensors to detect pressure exerted by water over the member and provide additional buoyancy support to the user during swimming, a gyroscopic sensor to detect orientation of the user’s body, when detected orientation deviates motorized flaps 105 correct the user’s posture and restore stability and buoyancy, an LDR 106 to detect light intensity and used to adjust brightness for optimal visibility in varying light conditions, a health monitoring module to detect user’s vital signs to access user’s physical conditions and sends an alert to a caretaker computing unit when required, a GPS to provide real time location tracking and to facilitate emergency response.
