Abstract: Agriculture is a critical sector that requires continuous monitoring of environmental parameters such as soil moisture, temperature, and humidity to ensure optimal crop growth. Traditional monitoring methods rely on manual observation, which is often inefficient and prone to inaccuracies. Existing IoT-based systems typically use centralized architectures, where sensor data is sent directly to a server for processing. This invention proposes a swarm-based distributed smart agriculture monitoring system using multiple ESP32 nodes that collaboratively validate environmental data using edge intelligence. Each node collects sensor readings and communicates with other nodes using the MQTT protocol to perform local anomaly detection. The validated data is then transmitted to a cloud-based backend system developed using Node.js, where it is stored in a MongoDB database and visualized through a React- based dashboard. The system improves data reliability, enables early detection of faulty sensors, and reduces dependency on centralized processing. The proposed solution provides a scalable, low-cost, and efficient approach for real-time agricultural monitoring and decision support.
