Inventors include Dr. Mohammad Afaque; Dr. Rizwan Ahmad Khan; Mr. Bilal Siddiqui; Mr. Akash Prakash; Ms. Neeti Mishra; Dr. Kamal Nabh Tripathi; Ms. Sunayana Kushwaha; Mr. Sphurty Raman; Mr. Utkarsh; and Mr. Shubhendu Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sustainable concrete composition incorporating steel slag as a partial replacement for fine aggregate, in the range of 10% to 50%, and jarosite as a partial replacement for cement, in the range of 10% to 20%, so as to achieve enhanced compressive and tensile strength, improved chloride resistance, reduced water permeability, and superior microstructural characteristics including densified calcium-silicate-hydrate gel formation, as validated through Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-Ray Diffraction analysis. The invention further discloses an optimized mix design and a method of preparation comprising proportioning, mixing, casting, and controlled curing of the composition. By utilizing steel slag and jarosite, both hazardous industrial by-products, the invention offers an environmentally sustainable, cost-effective, and high-performance alternative to conventional concrete, contributing to waste valorization and reduced dependence on natural raw materials.
