Abstract: The present invention relates to a surveillance system and method for Internet of Things (IoT)-based cattle health monitoring. The invention comprises a wearable sensing unit configured to acquire physiological parameters including body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, body movement, rumination activity, hydration level, posture, and geographical location, one or more environmental monitoring units configured to monitor ambient temperature, humidity, gas concentration, air quality, illumination, and noise level, an edge computing gateway configured to preprocess and validate acquired data, a cloud analytics platform configured to perform artificial intelligence-based health prediction and behavioural analysis, and a user interface configured to generate real-time health reports and prioritized alerts. The invention continuously correlates physiological and environmental information to identify abnormal health conditions, predict disease occurrence, generate electronic health records, and provide remote veterinary assistance. The integrated architecture enables early disease detection, improved livestock welfare, enhanced farm productivity, reduced operational costs, optimized veterinary intervention, and scalable precision livestock management suitable for dairy farms, livestock research facilities, breeding centres, and commercial animal husbandry applications.
