Abstract: A sun-tracking solar energy harvester (100) includes a concentrating solar collector (102) configured to concentrate solar irradiation, a solar tracking mechanism (104) configured to track a position of the sun, and a spectral splitting device (106) positioned at a focal point of the concentrating solar collector (102). The spectral splitting device (106) splits the concentrated solar irradiation into an infrared wavelength range and a visible wavelength range. A heat transfer fluid system (108) absorbs the infrared wavelength range. An organic Rankine cycle (110) coupled to the heat transfer fluid system (108) operates with a working fluid to convert thermal energy to mechanical energy. A light transmission medium (112) transmits the visible wavelength range. A photovoltaic panel (114) receives the transmitted visible wavelength range from the light transmission medium (112) and converts the visible wavelength range to electrical energy. (FIG. 3)
