Abstract: Sugarcane Bagasse-Mediated Non-Genetic Activation of Isoprenoid Biosynthetic Pathway in Streptomyces sp. VITGV156 (MCC 4965) for Enhanced Squalene Production. The present invention relates to a method for enhancing squalene production using a non-genetically modified microbial system. The method comprises cultivating Streptomyces sp. VITGV156 in a fermentation medium comprising sugarcane bagasse, wherein the substrate induces activation of isoprenoid biosynthetic pathways associated with squalene synthesis. The activation occurs through substrate-induced metabolic effects without genetic modification of the microorganism. The method results in increased squalene production and enables utilization of agro-industrial waste as a functional substrate. The invention provides a sustainable and scalable approach for microbial production of squalene and distinguishes over prior art by employing strain-specific, non-GMO pathway activation using sugarcane bagasse.
