The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: Patch antenna bandwidth augmentation for 5G communication systems is a developing subject of study. Making the suggested slotted patch is easy and involves minimal effort. It is also quite small. The proposed model resonates at the 2 GHz range, specifically the Wi-Fi band (2.4 GHz), also useful for 5G applications. It has an extended bandwidth and gain. The slot-shaped structure is applied to improve the quality of the radiation. Each model (A1 and A2) has been simulated using the HFSS tool. Radiation properties, including bandwidth, gain, radiation pattern, and reflection coefficient, have all been enhanced by splitting the design into two distinct designs. The bandwidth is very significant in these frequency bands. The bandwidth of the model A1, measured at 2 GHz, is 0.24 GHz. The bandwidth for the model A2 has been improved to 1.01 GHz. The reflection coefficient value obtained for model A1 is -17.2 dB at 2 GHz, and the reflection coefficient for the proposal model, A2, has been improved to -22 dB, which indicates that the proposed antenna can radiate properly with minimum power loss. Therefore, it is concluded that the present invention can be useful for fabricating the patch antenna with enhanced bandwidth (1.01 GHz). The gain has also been improved to 3.7 dB from 1.7 dB for the proposed model. The proposed antenna model can be used for implementing MIMO configuration, and/or array configuration to enhance radiation properties like gain, pattern, and directivity.
