Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method are disclosed for evaluating fractional derivatives of generalized functions that may contain discontinuities, singularities, impulses, or weakly differentiable components. An input function or distribution is represented in a selected generalized-function space, optionally regularized, and processed using a selected fractional order and fractional differential operator. The operator may be evaluated directly or in a transform domain using a Fourier, Laplace, wavelet, or other integral transform. A convergence and error-control module may compare analytical, numerical, or successive approximations and adapt discretization or regularization parameters until a selected threshold is satisfied. The system includes processor, memory, representation, regularization, fractional- derivative, transform, error- control, and output modules. The resulting fractional derivative is provided as a numerically stable generalized-function representation suitable for computational analysi
