Abstract: £ ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: The human gut microbiota plays a vital role in regulating digestion, immunity, and metabolic processes, significantly impacting overall health. This study focuses on developing a seaweed-derived prebiotic supplement using computational approaches to modulate gut microbiota composition. Sargassum, a marine macroalgae with a diverse biochemical profile, serves as the primary source of bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides, polyphenols, and secondary metabolites. The research begins with an extensive literature review to identify bioactive molecules within Sargassum. Approximately 30—50 compounds are analyzed for their bioactivity and physicochemical properties using platforms like PubChem and SwissADME. Molecular docking studies, conducted using AutoDock or SwissDock, evaluate interactions between these compounds and key bacterial enzymes, predicting their influence on gut microbiota. Computational analysis suggests enhanced proliferation of beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus, while inhibiting pathogens such as Escherichia coli and Clostridium difficile. Simulations using PICRUSt and HUMAnN2 predict functional shifts in the microbiome, indicating a 15-20% rise in butyrate production and improved metabolic function. Further pathway analyses via MetaCyc and KEGG highlight potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory effects and enhanced immune response. This study underscores the integration of marine bioresources and bio informatics for prebiotic supplement design, with future experimental validation planned.
