MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511079392 A) filed by Exonova Lifesciences Private Limited on August 21, 2025, for Stress-Adapted Mushroom Extracellular Vesicle Isolation Platform.
Inventors include Kumari, Arti; and Ahmad, Razi.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides a platform (100) and a method for isolating stress-adapted extracellular vesicles from mushroom species. The method includes cultivating Lentinula edodes or Ganoderma lucidum in potato dextrose broth with a glucose stress inducer, incubating at 20°C with agitation of 150 rpm, harvesting culture supernatant on Day 4, concentrating the supernatant approximately 10-fold, and isolating extracellular vesicles by size exclusion chromatography (130). The platform (100) includes a suspension culture (110), a size exclusion chromatography column (130), a collection vessel (140), and a characterization module (150). The extracellular vesicles have a mean particle size of 100 to 160 nm and a particle concentration of at least 1 × 1010 particles per ml. The glucose stress induction yields at least a 100-fold increase in vesicle production, providing high-purity, bioactive-loaded mushroom extracellular vesicles at commercial scale.
