Inventors include Chemukula Mathin Yadav; and Kukati Sai Mrudhula.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: A ball for cricket comprises a pressurized hollow interior (103), a rubber core (104) formed of two hemispherical portions joined along a joint line and enclosing the hollow interior, an outer felt layer comprising a smoother felt surface (101) and a rougher felt surface (102), and a seam (105) formed on the outer surface and separating the two felt surfaces. The pressurized rubber core, felt layer, and seam are configured in combination to generate aerodynamic effects, including swing and spin, during flight of the ball, and the seam is raised above the felt layer so as to provide grip to a user's fingers during bowling. The seam is further disposed over and anchored across the joint line of the rubber core, so as to reinforce the joint line against splitting.
