Inventors include Pinni Srinivasa Varma; Hema Dasari; and Dr. J. Sreenivasulu.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: A PSO-based framework is presented to optimally place FACTS under uncertainty of renewable energy systems on IEEE 33 bus distribution system. Probabilistic methods are used to consider uncertainties related to photovoltaic and wind power, loading condition, and equipment failures. Load flow study is carried out by using the backward-forward sweep method. PSO-based framework minimizes energy loss and EENS by determining the optimal location and reactive power capacity of FACTS. An optimal placement of FACTS at Bus 32 having 0.400 p.u. reactive power capacity results in 14.52% and 28.02% reduction in annual energy loss and EENS respectively.
