The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: A stochastic neural computation apparatus (110) includes an SPI slave module (112) receiving configuration data through an SPI bus (202), and a register file (114) storing a feedback polynomial, seed value, threshold value, decay value, and activation lookup values. A linear feedback shift register (116) generates a pseudo-random bit sequence from the feedback polynomial and seed value. A sigmoid activation lookup circuit (118) provides an activation value based on most significant bits of the pseudo-random bit sequence. A stochastic comparator circuit (120) compares bits of the pseudo-random bit sequence with the activation value to generate a stochastic firing signal. A leaky integrate-and-fire neuron core (122) integrates input current into a membrane potential responsive to the stochastic firing signal or external spike input, reduces the membrane potential absent integration, and generates a spike output when the membrane potential satisfies the threshold value.
