Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: Stimuli-Responsive Molecularly Tuned Nanocomposite for Selective Capture and Chemical Conversion of Trace Organic Contaminants The present invention relates to a stimuli-responsive molecularly tuned nanocomposite for selective capture and chemical conversion of trace organic contaminants. The nanocomposite comprises a nanostructured support framework, molecular recognition regions, stimulus-responsive functional regions, and chemically active or catalytic regions arranged to provide an integrated capture-to-conversion pathway. The molecular recognition regions selectively interact with target organic contaminants based on molecular size, shape, polarity, charge, functional groups, or combinations thereof. A stimulus including pH, temperature, light, electrical potential, magnetic field, ionic strength, or redox conditions modifies surface chemistry, molecular conformation, pore accessibility, binding affinity, or catalytic activity. Captured contaminants are concentrated proximate to chemically active regions and converted through catalytic, oxidative, reductive, photochemical, electrochemical, or related reactions. The nanocomposite may be incorporated into batch, flow-through, membrane, coating, or packed-bed treatment systems and may be regenerated for repeated treatment cycles.
