The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A sterile packaging system (100) includes a blister tray (102) for receiving a medical device (110) and a sterile barrier pouch (104) including a gas- permeable layer and enclosing the blister tray (102). A sterilization indicator (106) on the outer surface of the sterile barrier pouch (104) undergoes a first colour change upon ethylene oxide gas exposure. A package integrity indicator (108) within the sterile barrier pouch (104) includes an oxygen barrier substrate and an oxygen- sensitive coating (208). The oxygen barrier substrate controls ingress of atmospheric oxygen to the oxygen-sensitive coating (208) based on oxygen concentration. When the sterile barrier pouch (104) is intact, the oxygen-sensitive coating (208) remains in a first visual state. When the sterile barrier pouch (104) is compromised, the rise in oxygen concentration drives atmospheric oxygen through the oxygen barrier substrate to the oxygen-sensitive coating (208), resulting in a second visual state.
