MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641067360 A) filed by The Principal on May 29, 2026, for Step Safe; Insect And Small Creature Intrusion Detection System For Footwear.

Abstract: It is an innovative shoe intrusion detection system to enhance personal safety and security. It emphasizes the need for a reliable and efficient detection mechanism to prevent unauthorized objects or substances from entering sensitive environments through footwear. Insects that can potentially enter inside shoes and may be harmful, either through stings or bites, include Scorpions, Centipedes, Wasps, Bees, Spiders and even small snakes. Most of the cases children are prone to bites from such insects as they were more playful. So, our step safe project will alert the people whenever some insects intrude the shoes. This will be done by interfacing ultrasonic sensor with an Arduino board. The user will be alerted by a buzzer sound. The "Step Safe: Detecting Shoe Intrusions" project presents a novel and innovative approach to enhancing security and safety measures in various environments by leveraging the unique characteristics of footwear. The primary goal of Step Safe is to provide an additional layer of ยท security in settings where traditional security screening methods may be insufficient or impractical.
