Abstract: This steel sheet has a specific chemical composition and has a specific metal structure in which the average grain size of old austenite grains is 25 µm or less, the area% of tempered martensite is 80.0-99.0%, and the MA area ratio is 1.0-20.0% in a region from a depth of 1/8th of the sheet thickness from the surface to 3/8th of the sheet thickness from the surface. When the difference between the maximum number and minimum number of MA present on a line segment per 100 µm line segment is determined when 10 or more line segments are drawn at equal intervals of 10 µm or more at a 45° direction to the sheet thickness direction in structure photographs obtained by continuously photographing five fields of view in the rolling direction, each field of view being 100 µm in the rolling direction×100 µm in the thickness direction, in this region, and the average of the difference between the maximum number and minimum number of MA in the structure photographs of the five fields of view is calculated, the average is 8-16.
