Abstract: A standing assistive device for wheelchairs, comprising a pair of L-shaped plates 101 installed with hand rests of wheelchair, a pair of motorized clamp 102 configured with plates 101 grip hand rest and backrest, an imaging unit 103 installed on one plate monitor user presence near wheelchair, a motorized clamping unit 105 attached with one plate accessed by user to accommodate an umbrella handle portion that is further gripped and re-oriented to prevent turning of umbrella in extreme wind condition, a microphone 106 integrated on one plate receive user voice command regarding assistance while getting up, a L-shaped telescopically operated rod 107 installed on each plates 101 position a gripper 108 near torso portion of user’s body to grip the torso portion, a motorized slider 109 integrated between plates 101 and rod 107 move rod 107 upward to assist user in getting up from wheelchair.
