Abstract: A spring brake actuator (500) for a vehicle (1000) is disclosed. The spring brake actuator comprises a cylindrical housing (100) and a base member (200) removably coupled to the cylindrical housing. The cylindrical housing defines a parking brake chamber (110), a spring chamber (120) and a service brake chamber (130) with the parking brake chamber being configured adjacent to the spring chamber. There is a compression spring (140) disposed in the spring chamber, a parking brake piston (150) disposed in the parking brake chamber and a service brake piston (160) stacked adjacent to and in direct contact with the parking brake piston (150). The spring brake actuator of the present disclosure is compact in size with reduction in overall length. Fig. 2.
