The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of a spiropidion intermediate, specifically 2-(4-chloro-2,6-dimethylphenyl) tertiary butyl acetate (Intermediateof Formula I), along with its method of preparation. This intermediate is subsequently converted to 2-(4-chloro-2,6-dimethylphenyl)acetic acid (Intermediateof Formula II). Furthermore, the invention describes the preparation of 4-methoxy-1-(methylamino)cyclohexane-1-carbonitrile (Intermediateof Formula III), another essential spiropidion intermediate. Both intermediateof Formula II and intermediateof Formula III are crucial in the synthesis of the active agrochemical spiropidion, an effective insecticide. This invention thus provides an efficient route for the production of spiropidion using the intermediates, simplifying the manufacture of spiropidion for agricultural uses.
