MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511131574 A) filed by Aina Computers, Inc. on December 24, 2025, for Spiral Spring Joystick Assembly For Electronic Devices.
Inventors include Shankar, Apoorv; Mahale, Dwarkaprasad Santosh; and Jayan, Anoop.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a joystick assembly (100A) for an electronic device (108). The joystick assembly (100A) includes a spiral spring (102), a housing to anchor an outer portion of the spiral spring (102) to a fixed reference frame, and a joystick head (104) displaceable along orthogonal axis. At least one magnetic element is coupled to the joystick head (104), and at least one magnetic field sensor disposed relative to the magnetic element is configured to detect displacement of the joystick head (104) based on variation in a magnetic field. The spiral spring (102) is configured to deform under displacement of the joystick head (104) to generate a restoring force that returns the joystick head (104) to a neutral position. Further, the spiral spring (102) may provide out-of-plane bending stiffness to the joystick head (104), enabling two-axis displacement with substantially linear restoring characteristics within a predefined displacement range.
