Abstract: Spatially Guided OCR Extraction and Arithmetic Validation of Business Documents Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method extract and validate structured data from business documents. OCR candidates are associated with schema fields using a multilevel spatial relation graph representing tokens, lines, cells, regions, anchors, and geometric relationships. A correction engine preserves original observations and generates ranked alternatives for uncertain values. An arithmetic validator generates document-specific constraints for line amounts, subtotals, discounts, taxes, freight, rounding, and totals. A reconciliation controller evaluates alternatives against constraint residuals and configurable tolerances, limits revisions to bounded candidates, and prevents changes to locked or independently corroborated fields. Supported values are emitted with confidence, provenance, validation results, and audit identifiers, while unresolved conflicts are routed for human review. The system may be deployed locally, in an enterprise-controlled environment, or in a cloud service.
