MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514121727 A) filed by Venturi Lab Sa on December 04, 2025, for Space Rover With Optimised Thermal Management And Method For Thermal Management Of Such A Rover.

Inventors include Grard Baumgartner; David Olsommer; and Antonio Delfino.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The invention relates to a space rover (2) with thermal management optimised for operating in an extreme environment such as that encountered on the Moon, comprising a chassis (4) receiving components of the rover, four wheels (10) attached to the chassis, and an active body (14) assembled on the chassis and comprising wheel flaps (16) movable between an open position in which they uncover the wheels, and a closed position in which they cover the wheels, and access hatches (18) movable between an open position in which at least some components of the rover are uncovered, and a closed position in which at least some components of the rover are contained inside the body. The body is moveable relative to the chassis between a high, rolling position in which it is raised relative to the wheels, and a low, containment position in which it is lowered relative to the wheels to increase the containment of the components of the rover, in order to limit heat loss.
