Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to sounding reference signal (SRS) resource release. In one aspect, a first network device transmits information to a location management function (LMF), and the information is used for one or more network devices other than the first network device to release at least one SRS resource valid for multiple cells of a terminal device in the event that a time alignment timer (TAT) configured for a SRS validity area of the terminal device expires. Cells of the first network device and the one or more network devices are in the SRS validity area. In this way, the first network device may indicate the information to other network devices of which cells in the SRS validity area to assist the SRS resource release. Therefore, the resource efficiency is improved.
