Abstract: ABSTRACT SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL-LESS CHANNEL SOUNDING Example embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to sounding reference signal-less channel sounding. A method comprises obtaining configuration information indicating a set of demodulation reference signal, DMRS, ports, wherein the configuration information comprises information indicative of at least one complementary DMRS port among the set of DMRS ports; determining a number of the at least one complementary DMRS port among the set of DMRS ports based on at least one of at least one rule or transmission configuration information; transmitting, to the network device, at least: a first DMRS associated with uplink data via at least one DMRS port among the set of DMRS ports based on a transmission rank; and a second DMRS for channel sounding via the at least one complementary DMRS among the set of DMRS ports based on the determination.
