MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641124681 A) filed by Dr. Saravanan Krishnan on October 17, 2026, for Solar-Powered Mobile Scarecrow Robot With Cctv-Based Object Detection.

Inventor includes Dr. Saravanan Krishnan.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: An automated, solar-powered agricultural guardian robot system (100) for preventing and deterring crop damage by animals, birds, reptiles and insect swarms is disclosed. The system operates in a low-power preventive mode, periodically activating an audio/light module (70/72), and optionally an arm assembly (30), at randomised intervals irrespective of detection, to maintain an unpredictable, habituation-resistant deterrent presence. A camera-based object detection unit (42) running a YOLO-family real-time model (e.g., YOLOv12), together with a distance/ranging sensor (46), classifies a detected object into a human, animal, bird, reptile, or insect- swarm class, further determining species/type and estimated size (or, for a swarm, density/extent). Upon such detection, the control unit (60) escalates: suppressing actuation for a human; driving the actuator (31) to wave the arm assembly (30) in a species/size-appropriate pattern for an animal or bird; generating a safety alert for a reptile; and activating an insect-deterrent audio mode and/or pest alert for an insect swarm. A weatherproof canopy (50) carries a solar panel (52) while shielding the electronics from rain, and a rain gauge (90) logs rainfall quantity and duration. In a mobile embodiment, a trolley (96) moves the housing (20) along an elevated track (95) above the crop canopy toward the zone of highest detected animal/bird concentration without disturbing the soil or crop. A wireless module (80) transmits alerts, images and logs to a remote device (82) for round-the-clock monitoring.
