MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641080696 A) filed by Narsimha Reddy Engineering College Nrcm on June 30, 2026, for Solar-Powered Intelligent Pavement System With Integrated Load Monitoring And Energy Harvesting Mechanism.
Inventors include Dr. G. Veeraswamy; Dr. M Vishali; Sangam Ekasila; P Subash Babu; and P Venkatesh.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A solar-powered intelligent pavement slab system (110) incorporating a transparent load-distribution layer (120), photovoltaic module assembly (140), calibrated load transfer plate (160), load sensor unit (170), and piezoelectric energy harvesting stack (180) is disclosed. The system integrates solar and mechanical energy harvesting with real-time load monitoring. An energy conditioning and control unit (190) regulates and combines generated energy within a sealed electronics housing (200). The modular slab architecture protects photovoltaic cells from direct stress while enabling calibrated force transmission for mechanical energy harvesting. The invention enhances roadway sustainability, structural intelligence, and smart infrastructure integration.
