Abstract: The rapid growth of urbanization and the increasing need for sustainable infrastructure have led to the development of smart public transportation systems. This project introduces a Solar Powered Smart Bus Stand, which integrates renewable energy with modern technology to enhance passenger convenience, safety, and efficiency. The system utilizes solar panels to capture sunlight and convert it into electrical energy, which is stored in batteries for continuous operation. The smart bus stand is equipped with essential features such as LED lighting, mobile charging ports, digital display boards, and CCTV surveillance. These facilities improve the waiting experience for passengers while ensuring safety, especially during nighttime and power outages. The digital display system provides real-time bus tracking information, reducing uncertainty and improving time management for commuters. In addition, environmental sensors can be integrated to monitor air quality, temperature, and weather conditions, making the system more intelligent and responsive. Automated lighting further enhances energy efficiency by operating only when needed. Unlike conventional bus stands that depend on grid electricity, this system operates independently, reducing energy costs and carbon emissions. It is suitable for both urban and rural areas, particularly in locations with unreliable power supply. Overall, the Solar Powered Smart Bus Stand is an ecofriendly, cost-effective, and innovative solution that supports smart city development while improving public transportation infrastructure.
